Joseph Fitzgerald served as the NCE Men's Basketball Coach from 1952-1966
Fitzgerald was the JV coach from 1952-1960 before taking the reins of the varsity program from Frank Bauder in 1961.
During the 1964-1965 campaign, he guided the Highlanders to a No. 1 national ranking in Team Defense
Fitzgerald’s impact extended far beyond the coach as he also served as a mentor and role model to his players
Fitzgerald was also a faculty member serving as a Professor of Chemistry
