  • Dave Denure entered the Hall of Fame for his work from 1982-1998 as a head coach for four teams. 
  • As the director of the men’s and women’s volleyball program, DeNure captured a combined 325 wins in 19 seasons 
  • Upon his arrival to NJIT he worked with Oleg Moiseenko to coach the first NJIT women’s team (1982) and with the men's team in 1983. When he left NJIT in 1998, he was the head coach of the men's team for ten seasons and the women of nine seasons, including four years which he led both teams simultaneously
  • His overall record with the men was 175-126, including four 20-win seasons and five others of at least 17 wins 
  • Under DeNure’s direction the men’s volleyball team finished as national Division III finalists in 1997
  • The team appeared in the EIVA Division II Championship game four times, twice winning the title
  • In his final season as head coach, NJIT tied for first place in its EIVA division and was the circuit's top Division II team 
  • The highlight of that season was a victory over Penn State
  • Under DeNure the women’s volleyball team improved to a 10-5 in just 2 seasons (1984)
  • His teams topped 20 wins in four out of five seasons from 1986 to 1990. 
  • In 1990, the women’s volleyball team produced a then-program-best 26-6  record en route to capturing first place finishes in two different leagues, including an ECAC tournament semifinals for the second year straight. 
  • DeNure’s overall record with the women’s volleyball team was 150-93 
  • DeNure coached the first women's softball team at NJIT 
  • He also coached NJIT’s  women’s basketball team during the 1987-88 season 
  • Denure gained international playing experience as a member of the 1979 US World University Games team as well as playing in the National Sports Festival that same year 
  • A four-year member of the volleyball team at East Stroudsburg, he was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 1994
