  • Herb M. Iris, a great visionary and a major benefactor and supporter of NJIT athletics, was a distinguished alumnus of NCE, who remained close to his alma mater throughout his life. 
  • Mr. Iris had the longest tenure as chair of the Highlander Athletic Advisory Board and served as national chair of the Highlander Athletics Campaign
  • For his commitment to Highlander Athletics the Herb Iris Award is presented to the person who, like Herb, has demonstrated exemplary leadership and support the the advancement of Highlander Athletics
