Newark, NJ - The NJIT men's basketball team looks to make it three ASUN Conference wins in a row on Saturday when it hosts Kennesaw State at 4pm in the Wellness and Events Center.

Last Game Rewind:
The Highlanders won their second-straight game on Thursday, defeating Lipscomb 75-57 in front of 2,000+ fans on Education Day at the WEC. NJIT dished out a season-best 22 assists in the win as
Zach Cooks (24 points) and
San Antonio Brinson (17 points) led the way offensively.

San Antonio Brinson scored a program single-game record 37 points on 16-of-23 shooting to help lead NJIT to its first ASUN win of the season at previously undefeated (3-0 ASUN) North Florida on Saturday. Brinson also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists in the victory and was named the ASUN Player of the Week for his performance.

In four wins this season, NJIT is averaging 16.0apg as opposed to just 9.0 apg in its losses. The Highlanders dished out a season-high 22 assists vs. Lipscomb, 17 more vs. Wagner and 16 helpers vs. Kean and UNF.

Shyquan Gibbs and
Souleymane Diakite are each averaging more than 2.0 apg, with Cooks leading the way at 2.4 apg. Gibbs has had two games with five or more assists, while Brinson and
Reilly Walsh each have one.

Souleymane Diakite recorded three double-doubles in the Highlanders' final three non-conference games and his 12-point, 11-rebound, six block performance at UConn earned him ASUN Player of the Week honors. Diakite's six blocks at UConn were the most in a single game since
Tim Coleman swatted six shots in 2014.

Saturday's meeting is the ninth all-time between the Highlanders and Owls, with the previous eight coming in ASUN action over the last four years. NJIT leads the all-time series 5-3. The Highlanders have won three of the last four meetings.

The NJIT Highlanders (18-7, 6-4 ASUN) fell on the road to Kennesaw State (5-20, 2-8 ASUN), 63-62.
San Antonio Brinson led the team in scoring with 16 points, followed by
Diandre Wilson with 11 points.
Zach Cooks and
Abdul Lewis tallied 10 points each, while Lewis finished with a team-high seven rebounds.
Scouting the Owls
Kennesaw State has lost eight in a row and is in search of its first ASUN win of the season. The Owls rank last in the ASUN in both scoring offense and scoring defense.
Jamie Lewis is KSU's leading scorer (14.2 ppg), while Tyler Hooker, a 2018-19 Second Team All-ASUN Honoree, is the squad's second-leading scorer (13.5 ppg) and has scored 12+ points in his last six games.
Lewis has scored 20+ in three-straight games, including a 20-point effort on 6-of-21 shooting last time out at Florida Gulf Coast. Hooker was 4-of-17 from the field (13 points) Thursday night at FGCU.
