NEWARK, NJ – NJIT men's basketball has announced its 2026-27 non-conference schedule, which features a 16-game slate that tips off on the road on Nov. 2 and five contests at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.

Head coach Grant Billmeier enters his fourth season leading the Highlanders following one of the most successful campaigns in program history.

"We want to put together a very challenging non conference schedule that would prepare us for the America East. We wanted to try and play as many New Jersey teams as possible and we feel like we added some really good local games that will be both at home and on the road. I'm very excited to get the season going and allow our fans to see what I've been able to see every day in summer work outs."

NJIT opens the season with two consecutive road games, beginning at Dayton on Nov. 2 before making a stop at Iona on Nov. 5 as part of the America East-Metro Conference Challenge. The Highlanders then return to Newark to host Saint Peter's on Nov. 8 at the Joel & Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center for the home opener. The Highlanders head back on the road for four straight contests, beginning at Rutgers on Nov. 10 and VCU on Nov. 11 before traveling to Fairfield on Nov. 14 and FDU on Nov. 18.

NJIT continues its challenging non-conference slate with a trip to Boston College on Nov. 22 before returning home to host Manhattan on Nov. 25. The Highlanders close out November at Sacred Heart on Nov. 29.

December opens with a home matchup against Navy on Dec. 2, followed by consecutive road games at Seton Hall on Dec. 7 and New Haven on Dec. 9.

The Highlanders return to Newark on Dec. 13 to host Drexel before heading to Wagner on Dec. 23. NJIT closes out the 2026 calendar year at home against Saint Elizabeth on Dec. 29.
