NEWARK, NJ – The NJIT men's basketball team has announced its 2026-27 America East Conference schedule, as released by the league Tuesday afternoon.

Head coach Grant Billmeier enters his fourth season leading the Highlanders following one of the most successful campaigns in program history. 

"Our staff spent a lot of time in the off-season looking at what we have to do to prepare us to have a better team in the America East this season. We thought we had a great spring keeping a lot of our top guys and adding some terrific players from the portal, high school, and internationally. We're excited to compete in a terrific conference and feel we have positioned ourselves to be one of the top teams."

Following the previously announced challenging 16-game non-conference slate, NJIT will open America East play on the road on January 2, as the Highlanders travel to UMBC. The Highlanders stay on the road for two more games traveling up to Maine on January 7 and New Hampshire on January 9.

The Highlanders return to Newark and welcome UAlbany for their America East home opener on January 14.

NJIT will welcome Binghamton to the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center on January 18 before hitting the road again to take on Bryant on January 21. The Highlanders close out the week hosting Vermont on January 23.

The Highlanders end the month of January at home taking on UMass Lowell and then will start February with two away contests at UAlbany on February 4 and at Binghamton on February 6.

NJIT is back home for two games against New Hampshire on February 11 and Maine on February 13, then will hit the road for the final time during the regular season as the Highlanders will take on UMass Lowell on February 17 and Vermont February 19.

The regular season will conclude with two home games with the first on February 25 against UMBC and February 27 against Bryant.
