Women's Tennis Defeated In Southland Conference Premiere

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The NJIT women's tennis suffered a second straight spring break setback Wednesday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to Southland Conference foe Texas A&M - Corpus Christi at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.

Despite only securing one point against TAMCC (15-2) via a three-set win by Amira Badawi at No. 3 singles, the Highlanders (6-6) showed tremendous fight across the board in its first competition against a Southland opponent. Including Badawi's win, four of the six singles matches either went to three sets or saw a set go past six points.

In addition, Aya El Sayed and Joleta Budiman picked up a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.
