NEWARK, NJ--Fresh off their first victory of the season, the NJIT men's basketball team will hit the road Tuesday, traveling down the Turnpike to take on in-state foe Rutgers at 7pm.

Game Information
Tipoff is slated for 7pm at Jersey Mike's Arena (formerly known as the RAC) in Piscataway. Dominick Savino and Nick Kosko will have the call on BTN+.

All-Time Series
Tuesday's matchup is the eighth all-time in the series, which began in 2007. Rutgers has won the previous seven matchups, including an 85-58 victory two years ago.

Last Time Out
The NJIT men's basketball team picked up its first win of the 2021-22 season on Saturday, using a strong three-point shooting effort and stingy defense to defeat host Lehigh 73-56 at Stabler Arena. NJIT shot 60.0% (9-of-15) from three-point range and was led by Dylan O'Hearn (23 points), James Lee (17 points) and Miles Coleman (15 points).

America East Conference
NJIT will begin its second season in the America East and will play a schedule of 18 conference games against the other nine schools.  The Highlanders became the 10th full member of the America East on July 1, 2020.

The Highlanders were predicted to finish eighth out of the 10 league teams in the preseason coaches poll.

Next Up
NJIT returns back to action on Saturday when it concludes a season-long three-game road trip at Wagner. Tip-off is slated for 7:30pm on Staten Island.
