NEWARK, NJ --Â The No. 4 seeded NJIT Highlanders (14-15, 7-7 ASUN) will host the No. 5 seeded North Florida Ospreys (13-18, 7-7 ASUN) in the ASUN Quarterfinals on Monday night at the state-of-the art Wellness and Events Center (WEC) in Newark.

The Highlanders closed the regular season with a 76-67 victory at USC Upstate on Thursday, while North Florida dropped an 86-81 decision at Jacksonville.
Â
NJIT is 0-2 all-time in ASUN Tournament contests after falling in the quarterfinals to No. 7 seed Stetson in 2015-16 and No. 2 seed Lipscomb in 2016-17.

The winner of this contest will play the winner of No. 1 seed Florida Gulf Coast/No. 8 seed USC Upstate in the ASUN Semifinals on Thursday, March 1.

NJIT went 10-6 at the WEC this season.

This marks the second meeting in nine days between the two teams after North Florida picked up an 86-75 win on Feb. 17 in Jacksonville.

North Florida leads the all-time series by a 4-2 count after picking up the afore-mentioned 86-75 victory on Feb. 17 in Jacksonville.

In that contest, NJIT went on a run late in the first half to tie things at 39 apiece heading into the locker room, but North Florida scored the first 12 points of the second half en route to the win over the Highlanders on Saturday.

Brian Kennedy's squad did not go quietly as they cut the lead to five on a couple of different occasions, but the Ospreys seemingly had an answer for every Highlander run.

Anthony Tarke (20 points, 10 rebounds) and junior forward
Abdul Lewis (20 points, 11 rebounds) each had a double-double to pace NJIT, while junior guard
Donovan Greer chipped in with eight points.

Ivan Gandia-Rosa led the way offensively for the Ospreys with a game-high 23 points and was joined in double figures by senior guard
Osborn Blount who added a career-high 17 points, sophomore guard
Garrett Sams who chipped in with 15 and freshman forward
Noah Horchler came through with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Blount's previous career-high was 16 points against Florida National on Jan. 2, 2018.

In the last meeting in Newark on Jan. 18, NJIT used a 34-9 first half run and led by double digits for the final 33 plus minutes of the game in a 91-59 victory over North Florida.

North Florida led 34-31 at halftime, but was outscored by a 52-40 margin in the second half in Jacksonville's 86-81 win on Thursday night.

The Dolphins shot a blistering 63.3% (19-of-30) from the floor in the second half.

Sams had 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting to pace UNF, while the duo of Gandia-Rosa and Horchler added 17 points apiece.

Horchler and Lewis are tied for the ASUN lead in rebounding at 8.7 rpg, while Horchler ranks fifth in field goal percentage at 54.9%.

North Florida features two of the top five rebounders in the ASUN with Horchler and Aminu, who ranks fifth at 6.8 rpg.

Driscoll is in his ninth season at the helm of the Ospreys and has led his club to two ASUN regular season titles in the past three years and a berth in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

In 2015-16, North Florida won a school-record 21 games and hosted Florida in the opening round of the NIT.

Driscoll is also the winningest coach in program history.

Prior to coming to North Florida, Driscoll spent six seasons as the top assistant at Baylor and helped lead the Bears to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 20 seasons in 2008.

Driscoll's son, Chase, is a senior guard for the Ospreys.

Aminu's brothers, Alade and Al-Farouq, played collegiately at Georgia Tech and Wake Forest, respectively. Al-Farouq currently plays for the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers while Alade plays professionally in France.

Benedikt Haid's father, Johannes, was a two-time NAIA All-American at Hawaii Pacific and signed with the Detroit Pistons before suffering a severe knee injury.

The Highlanders led by just two at halftime, but pulled away early in the second half en route to the 76-67 win at USC Upstate on Thursday.

Shyquan Gibbs hit a three to kickstart a 23-10 run that was capped by a
Mohamed Bendary jumper that gave NJIT a 67-52 lead at the 8:28 mark of the second half.

Shawndale Jones led a balanced Highlander attack with 13 points, while the trio of Greer, freshman guard
Zach Cooks and junior guard
Diandre Wilson chipped in with 11 points apiece.

Seven different Highlanders scored at least six points in the game.

Greer was 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and is shooting 18-of-40 (45.0%) from beyond the arc in ASUN play. The Houston native is averaging 9.3 ppg over his last four games.

Cooks was also hot from three as the Lawrenceville, Ga., native sank 3-of-5 from deep and ranks third in the ASUN in three-point percentage at 44.9%.

On the season, Tarke leads the team in scoring at 15.8 ppg and is joined in double figures by Lewis (12.2 ppg) and Wilson (10.5 ppg). Lewis is also tied for the league lead in rebounding at 8.7 boards per game.
