Atlantic Sun Conference Game: NJIT at Lipscomb (Monday, 6:30 pm CST)
A quirk in the schedule finds NJIT playing a rematch against Lipscomb just five nights after the team played their first-ever contest last Wednesday in Newark (Lipscomb was an 81-72 winner).

Aside from being the northernmost school in the Atlantic Sun Conference (aside from NJIT, of course), Nashville-based Lipscomb is the only A-Sun member located in the Central Time Zone

NJIT looks to return to the wins column when it wraps up the third in a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference home stand by taking on first-time foe Lipscomb, which comes in from Nashville, TN.

After beating NJIT, Lipscomb lost it next game, 92-91, in overtime at home vs. USC Upstate. NJIT, meanwhile, won its next game at Kennesaw State, meaning the Highlanders and Bisons are tied for fourth in the A-Sun with 3-4 conference records, one game behind 4-3 Florida Gulf Coast and two games behind second-place Jacksonville, which is 5-2. Defending champ North Florida (7-0) is threatening to run away at the top after beating every team the first time through the schedule.

A LOOK at LIPSCOMB (7-17; 3-4 A-Sun)
Lipscomb is one of three private institutions in the eight-member Atlantic Sun. A coeducational liberal arts university founded in 1891, Lipscomb is affiliated with the Churches of Christ.

On January 16, the Bisons were reeling, with eight straight losses and a 4-16 overall record, including 0-3 in the A-Sun. Then they beat Stetson and followed that with a convincing 91-75 win over Florida Gulf Coast, which was picked second in the coaches' preseason poll. Lipscomb made it three in a row when it beat the Highlanders in Newark, before the streak ended at home vs. Upstate.

Key to the Lipscomb win against FGCU was 19 3-point baskets, which tied the Bisons for the most made threes in a Division I game this season (North Florida broke the record later that day with 20 3-points vs. NJIT).  The Bisons then fired in 15 3-pointers against the Highlanders. On the season, Lipscomb has attempted 692 3-pointers (almost than 29 per game) and made 263.

Also against NJIT the first time, Lipscomb held the Highlanders to 38 pct. accuracy from the floor, NJIT's lowest field goal percentage in nearly a month.

Casey Alexander is in his third season as Lipscomb's head coach following a two-year stint in charge at A-Sun rival Stetson.

A LOOK at NJIT (12-11; 3-4 A-Sun)
Damon Lynn scored 19 of his game-high 22 points in the second half, as NJIT upped its A-Sun away record to 2-1. It was also the sixth road win overall for the Highlanders, matching the program standard reached in each of the preceding two seasons.

In addition to Lynn, classmates Rob Ukawuba and Tim Coleman scored 17 points and 12 points, respectively, while Coleman also posted game-high totals in rebounds (7) and assists (5). Chris Jenkins, who graduated from high school the same year as other three, but who is a sophomore because he sat out last season as a transfer, added 12 points on 4-for-9 shooting from downtown.

Lynn and Coleman each scored 17 points the first time around vs. Lipscomb, supported by 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists by Ky Howard and 13 points for Ukawuba.
