ITA Official Release
NEWARK, NJ–Eight members of the NJIT men's tennis team were named to the 2024-25 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Scholar-Athlete Team, the association announced this week.
In addition to the eight individuals receiving the honor, the team was also recognized as a Division I All-Academic Team.
In order to earn the individual award, student-athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the academic year. The team honor goes to the team with a combined 3.2 GPA, which the Highlanders surpassed with a 3.337 grade point average.
Representing NJIT on the Scholar-Athlete team are: Tom Sorin, Soma Fukuhara, Sadhista Linga, Juan Diego Argenal, Maxime Hankins, Oscar Callo von Platen, German Lopez Andujar and Riccardo Campagnola.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2025, 994 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 159 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
