NJIT Track and Field Competes at IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships

FAIRFAX, Va. - The NJIT track and field teams will compete at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships hosted by George Mason on May 16-18 at George Mason Stadium.
 
Jason Ballen earned medalist honors in the javelin at the Penn Relays, finishing fifth with a throw of 59.24m. He posted a personal-best javelin throw of 60.74m at the Monmouth Season Opener, which ranks third in the America East.
 
Zaidah Lightener set the school record in the long jump with a college-best 6.01m at the Rutgers Relays, which ranks third in the America East.
 
Raegan Bossard broke the school record in the triple jump to earn a silver medal with a personal-best 12.01m at the America East Outdoor Championships.
 
Ryan Nartey finished fourth in the triple jump (14.28m) at the America East Outdoor Championships. He won the triple jump at the Sam Howell Invitational with a season-best 14.34m, ranking sixth in the America East.
 
Hayley Lucido broke the program record in the 800m to earn a silver medal with a personal-best time of 2:12.67 at the America East Outdoor Championships.
 
Jeusten Jourdain clocked a personal-best 110m hurdles time of 15.23 at the Sam Howell Invitational, which ranks tenth in the America East.
 
Justin Villamizar set the school record in the discus with a personal-best 47.46m at the Monmouth Season Opener, which ranks ninth in the America East.
 
Andre Henry, Robbie Tormo, Jourdain, and Pietro Carpentari recorded a 4x100m relay time of 41.70 to finish fourth at the America East Outdoor Championships.
 
The women's 4x800m relay team consisting of Jenna Keith, Nadia Zhecheva, Hayley Lucido, Julia Canonaco also set the program record by 23 seconds with a time of 9:07.54 to finish fourth at the America East Outdoor Championships.
 
The men's 4x800m relay team of Joseph Mucci, Fabian Herrera, Liam Dougherty, Daniel Wilson broke a school record with a time of 7:41.49 to finish sixth at the America East Outdoor Championships.

NEXT UP
The qualifiers for the NCAA East First Rounds will compete on May 28-31 at North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville.
