NJIT Baseball Reveals 2025 Schedule

1/7/2025 4:02:00 PM

NEWARK, N.J. – NJIT baseball head coach Robbie McClellan has announced the full 2025 schedule for the Highlanders.

NJIT will enter its second season calling Yogi Berra Stadium home, with 24 games slated to be played at the field in Little Falls, N.J. In addition, the Highlanders will face five teams that won at least 30 games last season, three of which qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Two of those opponents who won over 30 games in 2024 will be the first two foes for the Highlanders this February. First, NJIT will travel to High Point for a four-game series (Feb. 14-16) followed by a trip to the Lone Star State to play four against Sam Houston (Feb. 21-23).

NJIT's home opener takes place on Friday, Feb. 28 as the Highlanders kick off a three-game weekend series with Iona. The following Wednesday, NJIT remains home to host Monmouth for a midweek non-conference tilt on March 5.

Afterwards, the Highlanders hit the road for seven straight, all against BIG EAST foes. The stretch starts with a three-game set at reigning-BIG EAST champion St. John's (March 7-9). Following a game at Seton Hall on March 11, the Highlanders travel down to the outskirts of Philadelphia for three at Villanova (March 14-16).

Other non-conference opponents for the Highlanders include home games against Saint Peter's (March 19 & Apr. 15), Marist (Apr. 2), Rider (Apr. 9), Wagner (Apr. 11-13) and FDU (Apr. 30). Other road non-conference matchups include Fairfield (March 25), Hofstra (Apr. 23) and Monmouth (May 13).

America East play gets underway for NJIT on Friday, March 21 with the start of a three-game series against UMBC. The Highlanders will also host UAlbany (Apr. 4-6), Maine (Apr. 25-27) and UMass Lowell (May 15-17) in conference action. America East road trips for NJIT include Maine (March 28-30), Binghamton (Apr. 18-20), UMBC (May 2-4), and defending champion Bryant (May 9-11).

The America East Conference Tournament, hosted by Maine, is set to be held from May 21-25 in Orono, Maine. The top six teams in the league standings will qualify. Last season, third-seeded NJIT came within one game of reaching the championship series before falling to No. 2 seed UMBC.
