The 2024 Highlanders
NJIT is currently 5-9 after taking three of four from host Cal State Bakersfield last weekend in California. Veteran centerfielder
Albert Choi leads the Highlanders in hitting with a .317 average, while
Luke Longo and
Cade Ladehoff have provided plenty of power with five home runs each. Ladehoff's 17 RBIs lead the America East. Friday starter
Aidan Kidd has struck out 25 hitters through 17.1 innings over four starts.
Early Season RecognitionÂ
Longo and Ladehoff were honored as the America East Player of the Week and America East Rookie of the Week, respectively, following last weekend's four-game series at VMI.Â
NJIT vs. Seton Hall
Seton Hall holds a 12-2 edge in the series which dates back to 2008. Tuesday's game marks just the third time NJIT is hosting Seton Hall. The Highlanders and Pirates will meet again next Wednesday in South Orange.Â
