More Records Drop For Track and Field On Final Day Of Boston Double Weekend

BOSTON — The NJIT track and field programs ended their double meet weekend in Boston - at the UMass Lowell Riverhawk Invitational and the John Thomas Boston University Terrier Classic - with a number of exceptional performances.

BOSTON U DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
  • The grouping of Sanai Jenkins, Grace Burke, Hayley Lucido, and Maddie Stevens broke their own women's 4x400 relay school record, this time dropping from 3:51.38 to 3:49.31.
  • Stevens mirrored her effort from the UMass Lowell meet on Friday matched her 200 meter school record again with a time of 24.37.
  • Another Distance Medley Relay school mark fell as the men's foursome of Joseph Mucci, Gabriel Truehart, David Munera, and Anthony Dvorsky moved the 10:07.84 record down to 10:07.69.
  • Sarah Van Ornum lowered her school record in the 3000 meters from 10:12.93 to 10:08.68 after today's race.
  • Jadyn Otto posted her best finish of the year in the 60 meter hurdles, taking the runner-up spot and logging a time of 9.62.
  • Lillian Williams followed suit in the 60 meters with a PR time and third place run of 7.92.

UMASS LOWELL DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jordan Lindinger-Asamoah once again finished in the top five of a triple jump event, placing fourth with a leap of 14.77m / 48-5.50.

NEXT UP
NJIT will have another double meet weekend, this time locally and on two separate days. The Highlanders will compete in the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, February 2 and the Rutgers Open on Saturday, February 3.
