Zaidah Lightener has been selected America East Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week while freshman
Jessie Fotheringham has been named America East Conference Women's Rookie of the Week the league office announced on Tuesday.
This is the first America East Conference field award for Lightener and second of her career while Fotheringham tabs her second career indoor weekly honor and sixth overall.
Lightener recorded the first indoor triple jump mark over 12m in program history at the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships over the weekend at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center, as she earned a silver medal with a personal-best 12.01m. She also earned a silver medal in the long jump (5.85m). She ranks first in the America East in the long jump and triple jump.
Fotheringham set the school record and earned a bronze medal in the 3,000m with a personal-best time of 9:36.92 from the slow heat. She ranks second in the 3,000m in the America East.
