NEWARK, NJ–Freshman
Jessie Fotheringham has been named America East Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week and Female Rookie of the Week the league office announced on Tuesday.
Fotheringham placed third in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:58.55 at the Raleigh Relays, becoming the program's first NCAA Women's Regional Qualifier.
The performance punched her ticket provisionally to the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field East First Round (Regionals) from Wednesday, May 27, to Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the UK Track & Field Complex hosted by University of Kentucky.
Her time is six seconds faster than the qualifying time for last season's NCAA Championships in Oregon.
The time also ranks the Highlander freshman from Tamworth, NSW, Australia No. 1 in the East Region and No. 3 in the nation.
