Track Wraps Weekend With Three Wins At Lehigh Covert Classic

NEWARK, N.J. — The NJIT track and field teams wrapped up the weekend with its complete contingent competing at Lehigh's Carol and John Covert Classic Saturday evening.

HIGHLANDER VICTORIES

Nia Holloway picked up her first-ever individual event win, taking the 100 meters with a new school record time of 12.33.
Jacob Leigh also claimed a win in the 200 meters with a time of 21.69 that was only 0.06 seconds off of the school mark.
The 4x400 Relay quartet of Matt Bacchi, David Munera, Thomas Van Saders, and Andre Henry bested the field after running a 3:28.26.

TOP THREE FINISHES

Sydne Nance: 2nd in the 200 meters (24.53; .09 seconds off the lead; wind aided but would have broken her school record if legal)

NJIT will begin the outdoor postseason next week (May 7-8) at the America East Championships, being held on the campus of the University of Vermont.
