FAYETTEVILLE, AR - NJIT baseball sophomore Ryan Fischer was named to the NCAA Fayetteville All-Regional Team, it was announced late Monday evening at the conclusion of the four-day event. 

Fischer helped lead the Highlanders to their first-ever NCAA Tournament win on Saturday, tossing seven innings while allowing just one run as NJIT held off CAA Champion Northeastern 3-2 at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Earlier this season, Fischer was named Second Team All-America East and he recently earned All-Tournament Team honors at the America East Tournament. 

Fischer finished the 2021 campaign with a 5-3 record in 14 starts, while boasting a team-best 2.64 ERA. He struck out 53 hitters, while walking just 15.

The Whitehouse Station, NJ, native projects to be NJIT's top starting pitcher in 2022.
