NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT baseball team (26-22) will play in the program's first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament when the Highlanders visit No. 1 Arkansas (46-10) in the Fayetteville Regional on Friday, June 4 at Baum-Walker Stadium. First pitch is slated for 3pm (ET) on ESPN3.
NJIT, which earned the America East Conference's automatic bid, enters Friday's contest with 26 wins (NJIT Division I era record), program-record nine-game win streak and have won 18 of 22 games.
NCAA Tournament
Sixty-four teams qualified for the 2021 NCAA Tournament and were broken up into four-team regionals at 16 different host sites.
The national top 16 seeds are Arkansas (46-10), Texas (42-15), Tennessee (45-16), Vanderbilt (40-15), Arizona (40-15), TCU (40-17), Mississippi St. (40-15), Texas Tech (36-15), Stanford (33-14), Notre Dame (30-11), Old Dominion (42-14), Ole Miss (41-19), East Carolina (41-15), Oregon (37-14), Florida (38-20), and Louisiana Tech (40-18).
