WEST HARTFORD, CT - The NJIT baseball team took the second game of an America East doubleheader at Hartford on Friday to earn a split at Fiondella Field.
Hartford (4-2, 4-2 America East) won the opener 8-4, before NJIT (3-9, 2-4 America East) bounced back to win game two 5-4.
Game One
Hartford scored three runs in the bottom of the second and added another an inning later to go ahead 4-0 early and never looked back en route to the 8-4 game one victory.

Nick Hussey on a single in the top of the eighth and Fleming added a pitch hit, RBI-double to make the score 5-3 with six outs to go.
Jake Rappaport relieved Fischer in the eighth and earned his second save of the season. Hartford was able to score one run off of Rappaport, another solo home run in the ninth, but the veteran reliever was able to get a line out and a foul out to Longo, the NJIT catcher, to secure the win.
