NEWARK, N.J. --- For the first time in their short tenure in the America East, the NJIT women's soccer team will compete and host a game in the America East Women's Soccer Championship tournament, which begins Sunday, October 31.

The No. 3 Highlanders will take on the No. 6 New Hampshire Wildcats in the first quarterfinal at 1 p.m. at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium, marking the first time an NJIT program will host an America East tournament game. No. 4 UAlbany will host No. 5 Binghamton in Sunday's other quarterfinal. No. 1 Vermont awaits the winner of the 4/5 game and No. 2 UMass Lowell will host the 3/6 winner on Thursday, November 4. The America East title game will be held on Sunday, November 7 at the highest remaining seed.

ALL-TIME SERIES
NJIT and New Hampshire met for the first time two weeks ago (Oct. 17) in Durham, N.H., NJIT earned a 1-0 victory over UNH to kick start its current three-game winning streak and give the Highlanders their first-ever America East road win.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
New Hampshire will be making the America East tournament for the eighth straight year - his entire tenure - under current head coach Steve Welham. The Wildcats won three of their last five games and earned the No. 6 seed by virtue of their head-to-head win over Stony Brook on Oct. 3. UNH is led by First Team All-AE selection Francesca Picicci, All-AE Second Team selection Anna Hewlett, AE All-Rookie pick Meghan Guarente and UNH all-timer goalkeeper Cat Sheppard.

HISTORICAL NOTE
NJIT will look to replicate a feat UNH achieved for the first time in America East history in 2014 - winning their first America East tournament as a No. 3 seed.
