College Soccer News National Team of the Week | October 28, 2019

NEWARK, NJ—Junior transfer Gerald Cubero has been selected College Soccer News National Team of the Week for October 28, 2019 the organization announced.

The College Soccer News National Team of the Week recognizes individuals performances on both sides of the ball from coast to coast  who had a significant impact on the success that their teams enjoyed during the week.

Cubero becomes the second Highlander this season to earn College Soccer News National Team of the Week (Rene White; October 6, 2019), after scoring a pair of goals, leading the Highlanders to a 2-1 ASUN Conference victory at FGCU Saturday evening.

The 5-foot-8 forward, who played last season at nearby Essex County College in Newark and completed his freshman campaign at Rowan College at Burlington County, raised his season total to five goals, netting his first goal of the match in the second minute and the game-winner in the 84th minute to secure the 2-1 road win.

With the win at FGCU, NJIT moved to the top of the ASUN standings with 12 points and controls its own destiny for the ASUN Conference regular season title heading into the final week of league play.
