NJIT (10-17, 3-9 ASUN) will have a quick turnaround and host Florida Gulf Coast (22-7, 11-1 ASUN) on Monday night at 7pm in the Fleisher Athletic Center.

ASUN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
The eight-team, three-round ASUN Women's Basketball Tournament spans from March 3-12 and will be held on campus sites. The quarterfinals begin on March 3 and the semifinals on March 8. The 2017 Tournament Champion will be crowned on March 12.

For the remainder of the season, every NJIT game played in the ASUN Conference, home and away, throughout the regular season and into the ASUN postseason tournament will be covered on ESPN3.
ALL-TIME SERIES
FGCU leads the all-time series, 5-0. The two teams first met at the National Division I Independent Tournament in Edinburg, Texas in 2007-08. FGCU and NJIT faced each other three times last season – two during the regular season and in the opening round of the 2016 ASUN Conference Tournament. The Eagles, the number one seed in the tournament, topped the Highlanders, 60-31, in Fort Myers.Â
In the first meeting between the two teams this season, NJIT outscored FGCU in the first quarter, 17-13 and by two points in the second quarter, 16-14, holding a 32-27 lead at the half. FGCU exploded for 30 points in the third quarter and outscored the visiting Highlanders, 16-7, in the final quarter, securing a 73-53 home victory.
A LOOK AT FGCU
With an 11-1 conference record and head-to-head advantage over Stetson, FGCU remains in first place in the ASUN with two remaining games at NJIT and home against Stetson to close out the regular season.
The Eagles clinched a top-two seed with its 80-50 win over USC Upstate. The win also marked the 400
th program record for the Eagles.
Sharpshooter Haley Laughter had a hot hand, draining three threes for a total of 10 in her last two games. The North Carolina native along with transfer Rosemarie Julien led the team in scoring with 13 points each.
Jordin Alexander went 6-of-8 from the floor for 12 points, while leading the team with five assists and three steals. She's averaging 12.4 points, 3.2 steals and 3.4 assists over her last five contests.
FGCU came close to a program-record 20 three-pointers against Lipscomb in the Eagles 98-50 victory. The 98 points is the second-highest amount of points scored this season, coming three shy the 101-point performance against Ave Maria on December 4. The Eagles 289 three-pointers rank third in the nation.
This season the Eagles are leading the ASUN in scoring offense (72.8), assists (15.4 apg), FG made (757), 3pt FG made (289), 3pt FGs per game (10.0).
2015-16 EAGLES RECAP
FGCU produced one of its most successful seasons in program history at 33-6, with the win total representing the most in Division I program history and falling one shy of the all-time mark.
The Eagles made two NCAA Tournament appearances and won four-straight ASUN Regular Season titles. The 2015-16 team stands as FGCU's first DI team to play in a national title game.
After falling to South Dakota in the WNIT Championship, FGCU finished the 2016 WNIT with a record of 5-1 and moved to 8-6 in six appearances in the tournament.
FGCU earned the league's automatic bid to the WNIT with the regular season championship after compiling its fourth undefeated conference season in five years. The season concluded as the 12th-straight for FGCU with more than 20 wins. The Eagles have won 30 games in each of the last two seasons and have made nine-straight postseason appearances.
The Eagles saw its first player drafted to the WNBA when Whitney Knight was selected 15th overall by the LA Sparks.
A LOOK AT NJIT
NJIT with two games remaining in regular season play, is coming off a 60-37 loss against Stetson Saturday afternoon. Freshman forward
Danielle Tunstall led the Highlanders with 11 points while grabbing five boards. Senior point guard
Alana Dudley chipped in 10 points.
Dudley is averaging 11.8 ppg and has dished out 103 assists, which ranks the senior third on the NJIT D1 single-season record list, 24 shy the current record, 127, held by Alyssa Albanese.
Redshirt sophomore
Tatianna Torres is the Highlanders second-leading scorer at 10.0 ppg. Her 63 steals on the season ranks in the top 60 in the NCAA, is the league leader and holds the NJIT D1 single-season record.
Highlander three-point threat
Kelly Guarino ranked third in the ASUN in three-pointers per game (2.2) and paces NJIT with 54. Guarino is averaging 8.3 ppg and has connected on 20 in the last six games.
