WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ—The NJIT men's and women's indoor track and field teams concluded day two at the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational at Ocean First Bank Center Saturday afternoon.
Freshman
Ayanna Garrett took seventh in the women's 60 meter run with a time of 8.11, good for three points for the Highlanders. Sophomore
Elisabeth Paulina placed 12
th with a time of 8.25.
Paulina finished in the top 5 in the women's 200 meter dash, crossing the finish line at 26.29. Garrett placed seventh at 26.41.
Senior
Kelli Hesse finished in the top 3 in the women's 1000 meter run at 3:09.19.
Sarah Morgan took seventh, crossing the finish line with a time of 3:21.70.
Reigning ASUN Conference Track Athlete of the Week
Daniel Leung placed in the top 8 in the men's 60 meter with a time of 7.27 for the Highlanders. Leung also took eighth in the men's 200 meter dash at 23.49.
Newcomer
Ali Merdan finished in the top 5 of the men's 400 meter run, clocking in with a time of 52.22, earning eight points for the Highlanders.
Highlander
Joseph Onubogu picked up eight points for NJIT, taking third in the men's 100 meter run at 2:36.17.
