NASHVILLE, TN—The Atlantic Sun Conference baseball series between visiting NJIT and Lipscomb will be covered live on ESPN3.
Due to the weather forecast for high percentage of rain and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, the three-game series will begin on Friday with a 4pm (EDT) doubleheader and continuing on Saturday with a single game at 4pm (EDT).
The 16-23 Highlanders have won four of their last five games, all at home and all outside the Atlantic Sun Conference.
NJIT is 2-6 in its first season as a member of the A-Sun, which is one of the top baseball conferences in Division I nationwide. Both A-Sun wins for the Highlanders came against USC Upstate in the A-Sun debut for the Highlanders on April 1 and 2 (the third series game was rained out)
Lipscomb enters this three-game conference series with an overall record of 20-21 and 4-5 in the A-Sun, having taken the third of three games last weekend at Kennesaw State (11-9 in 13 innings).
