NJIT, with four days off, will return to action on Sunday at 1pm when the Highlanders visit Delaware State at Memorial Hall.
NJIT vs. Delaware State Series
NJIT leads the all-time series 3-2, with the Hornets taking the final two meetings, most recently a 56-54 overtime victory on February 3, 2015.
Michael Ventola, the voice of the Highlanders, will be on the call beginning with the pregame show at 12:45 p.m. The broadcast can be accessed for free at www.njithighlanders.com. The game will be streamed live on YouTube free of charge with no account needed.
A Look at Delaware State (1-6)
The Hornets, who last played on December 1 at Xavier, enter Sunday's contest with a 1-6 overall record. Delaware State's lone win came against Wagner, 61-49, on November 20.
Delaware State returns back home for its second home contest of the season after a stretch of six games on the road. The Hornets dropped an 86-53 victory at Xavier paced by junior guard
Mikah Aldridge with a game-high 20 points in her return from a three-game absence due to injury.
Sophomore forward
NaJai Pollard leads the Hornets in scoring (19.3 ppg), rebounding (9.9 rpg) and total blocks (12) while shooting 55% from the field (50-for-91).
Aldridge is the other double-figure scorer for the Hornets, averaging 13.3 ppg.
Preseason All-MEAC Selection
Delaware State was selected to finish 11
th out of 13 teams, including Pollard earning preseason All-MEAC first-team recognition.
Barbara Burgees, in her second season at the helm of the Hornets, led Delaware State to a four-game improvement last season (9-21), highlighted by road victories against previous MEAC Champions Savannah State and Hampton.
Burgess returns seven letterwinners from last year's squad, led by MEAC Rookie-of-the-Year forward Pollard.

A Look at NJIT (3-6)
NJIT, which has dropped its last three contests, will look to bounce back into the win column with a victory over Delaware State.
The Highlanders are coming off a 68-44 home loss against Binghamton, led by senior guard
Alana Dudley's team-best 18 points.
Dudley paces the Highlanders, averaging 11.3 ppg while dishing out 23 assists. She passed the 200 career assist plateau with two assists against Binghamton and currently sits in fifth all-time with 201 assists. She has recorded at least one assist in the first nine games.
Senior forward
Leah Horton is NJIT's second leading scorer at 10.3 ppg and ranks third on the team with 5.4 rpg.
Freshman
Danielle Tunstall is the team leader averaging 6.6 rpg followed by redshirt freshman
Jillian Libby at 5.6 rpg.
Next Up
NJIT will visit Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia on December 13 at 7pm, marking the second all-time meeting between the two schools. The Hawks defeated NJIT, 68-59, on December 28, 2007.
