NJIT (7-6) at SAINT FRANCIS (4-6) WEDNESDAY at 7 pm
NJIT will take its longest ground transportation trip of the season when the Highlanders visit Saint Francis U of the Northeast Conference in Loretto, PA for a non-conference game Wednesday night. The bus trip from Newark to Loretto, located in central Pennsylvania, is a bit more than 280 miles each way.

This game will be the third in the all-time series that began on January 4, 2014 (NJIT won at Saint Francis, 64-56). Last year in Newark, NJIT was a 77-65 winner on December 30, 2014.

Both results have had a turning point feel from NJIT's point of view. The first meeting in Loretto saw the Highlanders snap a 6-game losing streak with a hard-fought come-from-behind victory. Trailing by 5 at the half, NJIT outscored the Red Flash by 13 in the second half to pull out the win.

Last season, the Highlanders had lost 4 of 5 when they hosted Saint Francis. NJIT won the game, which began a 5-game winning streak. In fact, the victory over Saint Francis was the beginning of a 16-3 finish to the Highlanders season.

A LOOK AT SAINT FRANCIS (4-6)
Rob Krimmel (Saint Francis, 2000) is in his fourth season as head coach at his alma mater and he has improved the team's wins total each season (5 in 2012-13; 10 in 2013-14; and, 16 in 2014-15).

Saint Francis, which last played on December 19 (lost at UAlbany, 65-58) has lost six games, but two losses came against nationally-ranked teams (#18/#19 Notre Dame; #2 Maryland).

The Red Flash and NJIT have two common opponents—UAlbany (beat NJIT, 74-73; beat Saint Francis, 65-58) and Kent State (beat NJIT, 80-75; beat Saint Francis, 79-60).

Quiet time is over
After playing once in 15 days (Dec. 20 win at St. John's), NJIT's schedule is revving up. The Highlanders hosted Stony Brook on December 28; are visiting Saint Francis on the 30th; will host UMBC January 2 and visit Yale on January 6.

After that comes NJIT plays its inaugural season as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, with 14 A-Sun games from January 9 (home vs. USC Upstate) through February 25 (at USC Upstate). The A-Sun Tournament held at campus sites, follows from March 1 to March 6, with the A-Sun Tournament winner going to the NCAA Tournament.

A LOOK AT NJIT (7-6)
NJIT hits the road looking to shake off the effects of an 83-61 home defeat at the hands of a very good Stony Brook team.

With the Stony Brook game in the books, eight of NJIT's first 13 games have been against teams that made postseason tournaments in 2015 (NJIT is 3-5 against 2015 postseason qualifiers, including the victory at 2015 NCAA Tournament participant St. John's in the last away game).

NJIT team stats and leaders:
