LORETTO, PA—NJIT men's basketball faces its eighth new opponent this season when it takes on Saint Francis University on Saturday at 2 pm.

Matt Provence, voice of the Highlanders, will provide live play-by-play audio of the game here on www.NJITHighlanders.com with coverage beginning at least 15 minutes before the contest on Saturday.

Saint Francis, which plays in the Northeast Conference, brings a 2-10 record into the game against the Highlanders, who are 6-10.

The top player for the Red Flash is 6-foot-6 junior Earl Brown, who was voted Most Improved Player in the Northeast Conference as a sophomore. Brown is close to averaging team-best numbers in points (12.8 ppg) and rebounds (9.8 rpg). Malik Harmon, a 5-foot-11 freshman guard, is second in scoring at 9.4 ppg). Harmon is a product of perennial New York City Catholic high school power Christ the King of Queens, NY.

Rob Krimmel, the second-year head coach at Saint Francis, is in his 17th year with the school overall. He was a four-year standout player for the Red Flash and then served as an assistant coach before moving over to the head coaching role.

Saint Francis has been hampered a by a relatively low team scoring average of 57.4 ppg (NJIT scores 69.4 ppg). Saint Francis allows 69.9 ppg compared to 73.7 ppg for the Highlanders' foes. The Red Flash are also being outrebounded by 7.5 rpg (NJIT is being outrebounded by 4.4 rpg).

The game vs. NJIT for Saint Francis is its final non-conference contest before it begins play in the Northeast Conference on January 9 at Bryant.

NJIT's top scorer is freshman Damon Lynn (16.4 ppg), who notched 20 points that included a school Division I record-tying six 3-pointers in the last game, a 75-64 defeat at Hofstra on December 30.

Terrence Smith averages 12.8 points while making 58 percent of his shots from the floor and 82 percent at the foul line. He is NJIT's top rebounder (5.9 rpg).

Winfield Willis rounds out the trio of double-figure scorers at exactly 10 points per game.

NJIT's assists leader is sophomore Ky Howard (4 apg), who is also scoring 9.1 ppg and makes 48.4 percent of his shots from the field, second-best on the team after his classmate, Smith.
