Men’s Tennis Blanks St. Francis Brooklyn, 7-0

Jack Felich (front page) and Fraser Croad were double winners on Friday for NJIT

NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT men's tennis team got back into the win column Friday evening sweeping visiting St. Francis Brooklyn, 7-0, at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.

The Highlanders (7-1) swept the doubles contests and won all six singles contests to earn to sweep.

In doubles action, Erik Artursson and Petr Rousar were 8-7(3) winners at first doubles over Tita Mba and Frances Terns-Campius.  Rousar, competing at third singles, was the only Highlander Friday who dropped a set, 6-4, in the first frame, but bounced back for a 7-6(5), 10-5 victory over Terns-Campius while Artursson won by identical scores, 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles.

Highlander pair Fraser Croad and Andres Alban won 8-1 at second doubles followed by teammates Jack Felich and Markus Schultz, who were also 8-1 winners at third doubles.

Schultz defeated Mba at first singles, 6-2, 6-0 while Alban followed at the second spot with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.  Croad, the Highlanders senior topped Martin Grunin in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 while Felich won by identical scores, 6-0, 6-0 at the sixth spot.

NJIT will have a quick turnaround when the Highlanders visit Army on Saturday at 5pm.
