2026 NJIT Men's Tennis Fall Schedule

NEWARK, NJ –
The NJIT men's tennis head coach Marco Matteucci has announced his team's schedule for the 2026 fall season. The Highlanders will participate in three Intercollegiate Tennis Association events, five team invitationals, one Big South event and one NCAA event.

"We have another strong fall schedule this year. Yale always puts on a great event, as do St. Joseph's and Drexel, so we're looking forward to competing at those tournaments. We also hope to make some strong runs at the ITA Regionals and our Big South Conference Individual Tournament," said Matteucci.

"Our guys played a lot of tennis this summer, which should put us in a good position heading into the season. Riccardo had a tremendous summer, beating several high-level players, while Soma competed a lot and put together some really good results. Our newcomers, Arijan, Francisco and Xingu, also got plenty of matches in over the summer. We're excited to get started and see what this group can accomplish this season."

The Highlanders open their fall slate in September with the Army Invitational in West Point, New York, as well as competing in the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. NJIT will also travel to New Haven, Connecticut, for the Yale Invitational to close out the month. Following opening weekend, the Highlanders will head down to Philadelphia and compete in the Saint Joseph's Invitational.

In October, the Highlanders will return to Philadelphia for the UPenn Invitational before traveling to Rock Hill, South Carolina, for the Big South Individual Championships. The first week of November will feature two ITA events for the Highlanders, with NJIT competing in the ITA Conference Masters Championships in Rome, Georgia, and the ITA Sectional Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Highlanders will also travel to Philadelphia for the Drexel Invitational before closing out their fall slate down in Orlanda, Florida for the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships.

Last season the Highlanders ended the regular season on a ten-match winning streak and earned themselves the No. 2 seed in their first year as a member of the Big South where their season came to a close in the semi-final matchup. As a team, NJIT ranked sixth in the ITA Northeast Regional rankings and had multple student-athletes recieve post-season awards.
