ITA Official Release
NEWARK, NJ–Seven members of the NJIT men's tennis team were named to the 2025-26 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Scholar-Athlete Team, the association announced this week.
In addition to the seven individuals receiving the honor, the team was also recognized as a Division I All-Academic Team.
In order to earn the individual award, student-athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the academic year. The team honor goes to the team with a combined 3.2 GPA, which the Highlanders surpassed with a 3.337 grade point average.
Representing NJIT on the Scholar-Athlete team are: Soma Fukuhara, Sadhista Linga, Maxime Hankins, Riccardo Campagnola, Nejc Skorjanc, Severin Risan and Yerssyl Bakhtiyar.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2026, 1,008 Division I Men's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 162 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
