Durham, NC—The NJIT baseball season opener scheduled for Saturday, February 16 at North Carolina Central has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

The teams are scheduled for a 1pm double-header on Sunday at the historic Durham Athletic Park.

Last season, the Highlanders took two out of three games from Eagles. 

NJIT dropped the first game, 8-5, but bounced back for a 15-2 nightcap victory.  In the final game of the series, NJIT built a 17-2 lead, but the Eagles rallied for three runs in the eighth and 10 in the ninth, forcing the Highlanders to hold on for a 17-15 victory.
