The NJIT women's basketball team will close out the regular season with a Great West Conference home game against Chicago State on Saturday, March 3 at 2pm in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

The game is part of the only home doubleheader of the season, with a men's game between NJIT and Chicago State following at 4pm.

In this season's first women's game between the two schools, Chicago State was an 86-70 winner on February 4 in the Windy City.

The Highlanders are coming off a 69-66 defeat at home to Longwood on Sunday, February 26.  The final three minutes of each period were another story entirely, as Longwood scored the last 16 points of the first half to tie the score by halftime and then outscored the home team 6-3 in the last minute.

NJIT (11-16 overall, 5-4 in Great West) is led by junior Rayven Johnson's (11.3ppg) and (8.1rpg).  Johnson's (8.1rpg) ranks her 129th in the nation.  The forward also leads the Highlanders with 27 steals and ranks third in field goal percentage (.387; 111-294).  In the conference, Johnson ranks second in rebounding (9.1rpg) and fifth in scoring (11.8ppg).

Freshman Denisa Domiterova ranks second on the team in points per game (9.0ppg).  Domiterova ranks 39th in the nation in three-point field goals per game (2.6) and 60th in three-point field goal percentage (35.9).  She leads the Highlanders with 65 three-pointers made and ranks third in the Great West.

Freshman Nicole Maticka rewrote the NJIT record book on Sunday against Longwood recording nine blocked shots, breaking her own record of eight, done against Fairleigh Dickinson on November 16, 2011.

Maticka's nine blocked shots in a game ties for the seventh-highest this season nationally for Division I.  The center also raised her overall school-record season blocked shots to 77, which also makes her the career leader for the Division I era (since 2006-07) with less than one season complete.

Chicago State (6-22 overall, 4-5 in the Great West) is led by Janay Dockery, the Great West's leading scorer with (20.3ppg) and her 22 three-point field goals (3.1) also rank her first in the conference.

Dockery ranks 13th in the nation with (3.2) steal per game, 36th in scoring, 79th in three-point goal percentage (34.2) and 82nd in free throw percentage.

Teammate Natalie Marlow leads the Great West with 45 assists (5.0apg), which ranks the senior 64th in the nation and eighth in the conference in scoring (10.2ppg).

Paris Williams is ranked in the top nine in the Great West in rebounds per game (6.3) while Dockery is 11th with (5.3rpg).

The Cougars are 1-10 on the road and 2-4 since defeating the Highlanders back on February 4.  Chicago State has lost its last two contests to Texas-Pan American and Seattle.
