STATEN ISLAND, NY – Wagner scored twice in the first half and once in the second defeating NJIT 3-0 in a non-conference women's soccer matchup Friday afternoon.
Wagner got on the board with an early tally at 9:25 on a header by Julie Vigliotti from in front of the net. Assisting on the goal were Kaitlyn Llewellyn and Briana Vassallo Briana.
The Seahawks pushed its lead to 2-0 adding a goal at 33:32 on a shot from 17 yards out by Dominique Bonura. Earning the assist was Monica Zurich.
Wagner scored the final goal of the night off a shot by Llewellyn, who blasted a shot from 40 yards.
The Seahawks had an advantage in shots, 23-9 and corner kicks, 9-3.
NJIT freshman Amanda Dotten got off four shots (all on goal) while senior Briana Morales and junior Kori Washington had two shots apiece.
Seahawks goalkeeper Jen Emigholz recorded her first shut out of the season while NJIT keeper, Sadie Mele had five saves.
The Highlanders wrap up its regular season on Sunday when they travel to Longwood for a 3pm start.
