BRONX, NY -- NJIT's men's and women's cross country teams hosted the 6th Annual Nick Russo Halloween Classic at Van Cortlandt Park this afternoon.

Freshman Joe Ju covered the 8k course in (20:37) to finish second individually behind Saint Peter's (20:29) Mike Bravo.

Highlanders Patrick Granitzki, Stefan Montalvo and Dan Sapienza finished side by side crossing the finish line at (20:51), (20:53) and (21:13).

Rookie Chadwick Munroe picked up points completing the course at (22:18) while Brad Leonhardt (23:16) and John Zawisa were a minute behind (23:42).

On the women's side, sophomore Amanda Hefferan was the top finisher for NJIT in the 5k course placing second individually at (11:05).  Freshman Megan Higgins finished at (12:07) picking up points for the Highlanders.

Captain Cara Constantino and Katherine Joseph finished side by side with a time of (12:36).

Other finishers for NJIT were: Daisy Gallegos (12:44), Nicole Kerrison (12:46) and Shawntel Young (13:56).

Both teams return to action on Saturday, November 22 at the IC4A/ECAC Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
