BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Jessie Fotheringham and Lasse Bjørn Jensen set program records in the 6K and 10K, respectively, at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday afternoon at Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
Fotheringham placed 30th with a personal-best 6K time of 20:28.2, shattering the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional 6K program record by 2 minutes and 23 seconds.
Sarah Van Ornum ran a personal-best 6K time of 21:53.4 to place 92nd, while
Kimmie Harding was the third Highlander to finish with a personal-best 22:51.3.
Fotheringham and Van Ornum recorded the highest individual finishes at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in program history. NJIT's top three runners also posted the fastest NCAA regional meet times at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in program history.
On the men's side, Bjørn Jensen placed 69th with a personal-best and program record 10K time of 31:25.8.
Anthony Dvorsky clocked a personal-best 10K time of 31:28.6 to finish 74th, and
William Mitchell placed 96th with a personal-best time of 31:48.4.
Diego Reyes posted a personal-best 10K time of 32:57.3 to finish 147th.
The Highlanders recorded three out of the top four fastest 10K times at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in program history. Reyes also ran the second-fastest 10K time from a freshman at the meet in school history, trailing only Bjørn Jensen.
