NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT women's soccer team (2-1-0) hosts Lehigh (1-2-0) on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium. The game will be streamed live on America East TV, with Miles Grossman on the call.
HIGHLANDERS ON TWO-GAME WINNING STREAK
NJIT is on a two-game winning streak, most recently securing a 3-2 victory over Marist on Aug. 24.
Merle Hueser,
Briana Andreoli, and
Emily Jozak each scored one goal in the win. Jozak led the Highlanders with three points.
ANDREOLI BREAKS NJIT DIVISION I POINTS RECORD
With her goal against Marist, Andreoli broke the Division I program record with 34 points (13 goals, 8 assists). She earned the America East Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 25 after recording four points (1 goal, 2 assists) last week.
Andreoli was selected to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team for the second consecutive season. Andreoli ranked second on the team with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) last season while playing all 17 games.
The senior ranks second in Division I program history with 13 career goals.
SCOUTING LEHIGH
Lehigh enters the contest with a 1-2-0 record, most recently beating La Salle, 2-1, on Aug. 20.
Faith Dobosiewicz leads the Mountain Hawks with four points (2 goals) this season, while Maggie Ousouljoglou has made 13 saves in three appearances.
Lehigh leads the all-time series, 2-0. The Mountain Hawks won the last matchup, 2-0, on Sept. 18, 2011.
