2026 America East Conference Schedule
NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's basketball team will tip off its 16-game America East Conference slate on Saturday, January 3 as the full league schedule was released on Tuesday.
The Highlanders, led by third-year head coach Grant Billmeier, will open America East action on the road at Binghamton (Jan. 3).
"We're very excited for this upcoming season," said Billmeier. "The America East will once again be a very competitive conference to compete day in and night out. Our players and staff have been working hard since June to put our team in position to have a successful season."
NJIT will play the next three out of four contests inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.
The league opener at home will welcome New Hampshire (Jan. 8) followed by Maine (Jan. 10) and defending America East Champions Bryant (Jan. 19). The lone road contest in the stretch for NJIT will be at UMass Lowell (Jan. 15). Last season, Bryant reached 23 wins, won the America East regular season and tournament titles and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four seasons.
The Highlanders will play three straight on the road in America East action to close out the month of January – at UMBC (Jan. 22), at UAlbany (Jan. 29) and at Vermont (Jan. 31). The Catamounts won 21 games last season.
NJIT will tip off February at home with a pair of games against UMass Lowell (Feb. 5) and Binghamton (Feb. 7).
In the middle of February, NJIT will make a trip up to New Hampshire (Feb. 12) and Maine (Feb. 14).
NJIT will play two in a row in Newark, hosting UAlbany (Feb. 19) and Vermont (Feb. 21) before wrapping up league action on the road at Bryant (Feb. 28).
The Highlanders will conclude the 2026 season at home against UMBC (Mar. 3).
The America East Playoffs get underway with quarterfinals on March 7, followed by semifinals on March 10 and the championship on March 14. The top eight teams in the league standings will qualify for the playoffs.
America East All-Rookie selection Ari Fulton is coming off a strong first campaign in Newark, where he averaged 9.4ppg, 6.2rpg and shot 42.5 percent from the field against America East Conference opponents.
