NEWARK, NJ -- The NJIT men's basketball program has officially released its 2025-26 season schedule, featuring a strong slate of non-conference matchups aimed at preparing the Highlanders for a competitive America East campaign.
NJIT Men's Basketball 2025-26 Full Schedule
The season tips off on Tuesday, November 4, as the Highlanders travel to the Bronx to face Fordham. NJIT's home opener follows on Saturday, November 8, when the Highlanders host Fairfield at the Joel & Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.
The non-conference schedule includes marquee road contests against Cincinnati, Louisville, Eastern Michigan, High Point, and Butler, along with regional matchups against Loyola (MD), Drexel, Navy and Penn. NJIT will host five home games before the new year featuring opponents such as FDU, New Haven, Sacred Heart and SUNY Canton. In total, the Highlanders will play 15 non-conference games before starting America East play in early January.
Head Coach
Grant Billmeier expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season and the makeup of his team saying "We're very excited about our challenging non-conference schedule. We feel this will give us the best advantage to get ready for America East play. I'm very excited about all our returners and the improvement in their game since last season as well as the new players we have brought in."
The America East portion of the schedule kicks off on January 3 at Binghamton, followed by a stretch of key conference home games against New Hampshire and Maine. To round out January, the Highlanders will hit the road taking on UMass Lowell and then return back to Newark for a contest with Bryant. After Bryant, the Highlander start a three game road trip against UMBC, Albany and Vermont.
February for the Highlanders includes four home games including two to start off the month with matchups against UMass Lowell and Binghamton. Following the start of the month it is back on the road for the Highlanders as they head north to play New Hampshire and Maine. The final two home games of the month will be played against Albany and Vermont and then the Highlanders close out the month at Bryant. The final game of the regualr season will be at the WEC on March 3 against UMBC.
All game times and broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date. All #AEHoops games will air on ESPN+ or ESPN3 this season.
