NEWARK, NJ–NJIT Men's Basketball Head Coach
Grant Billmeier has announced the hiring of
Ty Goode as an Assistant Coach on Monday.
Goode comes to NJIT after spending three seasons on the staff at Fordham University where he served as Recruiting/Video Coordinator (2024-25) and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator (2022-24).
"I'm thrilled to add Ty to our coaching staff, said Billmeier, who is entering his third season as head coach at NJIT. "He will bring an incredible amount of passion to work every single day and will be a terrific mentor to our players as they will benefit learning from him on and off the court."
Prior to Fordham, Goode spent nine seasons (2014-2022) as the Varsity Assistant Coach at St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, NJ. He was responsible for assisting in recruitment efforts, student-athlete evaluation, individual skill and team concept instruction, preparing and implementing game strategies.
"I am excited for the opportunity to join such a tremendous staff, " said Goode. "I'm looking forward to helping the program grow and achieve great success!"
A 2005 graduate of Fairfield University with a degree in Business Administration in Information Systems, Goode was a four-year starter, two-year captain and was named the 2004 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year for the Stags.
Goode was a three-year member and two-year starter at William E. Grady High School in Brooklyn, guiding the team to a New York City PSAL City Championship and earning first-team All-City honors.
"Ty is very well connected in the grassroots world and his relationships will help our program in recruiting," added Billmeier.
