WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Justin Villamizar set the school record in the discus with a personal-best 47.46m to finish seventh at the Monmouth Season Opener this weekend at Kessler Stadium.

NJIT recorded 22 personal-bests and nine top-five marks in program history to open the outdoor season.

Nelagh Matthews set the school record for the 100m hurdles in all conditions with a time of 15.01, finishing tenth.

Jason Ballen won the javelin throw with a personal-best toss of 60.74m, which is the second-best mark in school history.

Jeusten Jourdain posted personal-best times in the 110m hurdles (15.28) and 200m (22.21), both of which rank in the top five in program history.

Pietro Carpentari finished tenth with a personal-best 100m time of 10.89, which is the fifth-best in program history.
Robbie Tormo ran a personal-best 100m time of 10.95.

Julia Canonaco recorded a personal-best 800m time of 2:17.93 to finish tenth, which is the third-best in program history.
