BOSTON, Mass. / NEW YORK, N.Y. - The NJIT track and field teams will compete at five meets this weekend. On Friday, the Highlanders will compete at the Crimson Elite, Fastrack National Invite, and the Showdown at the Heights. NJIT will compete at the Crimson Open and the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite on Saturday.
 
NJIT delivered splendid performances at the Mets Indoor Championships on Jan. 31 that resulted in 15 personal-bests and eight top-five marks in program history.

The 4x200m relay team, consisting of Jeusten Jourdain, Lossenie Fofana, Robbie Tormo, and Pietro Carpentari, set a new school record with a time of 1:28.51 to capture a gold medal at the Mets Indoor Championships.

Kierstin Ashby ran a time of 58.83 in the 400m to finish eighth at the Mets Indoor Championships, which ranks eighth in the America East Conference.

Sanai Jenkins posted a 1:17.24 in the 500m at the Mets Indoor Championships, which is the fastest time in the America East Conference. Lucia Julvez ranks fourth in the America East in the 500m with a time of 1:17.73 at the Gotham Cup.

Zaidah Lightener set the school record in the long jump with a college-best 5.76m at the Dr. Sander Invitational, which ranks second in the America East. She also ranks fifth in the AE in the triple jump with a college-best 11.74m at the Seahawk Shootout.

Raegan Bossard broke the program record in the triple jump with a personal-best 11.90m at the Dr. Sander Invitational, ranking second in the America East.

Jenkins, Julvez, Ashby, and Hayley Lucido posted a 4x400m relay time of 3:56.32 at the Dr. Sander Invitational, ranking third in the conference.

Jourdain ran a personal-best 60m hurdles time of 8.51 at the Dr. Sander Invitational, which ranks seventh in the America East.

Marvellous Bassey (14.00m) and Ryan Nartey (13.92m) rank sixth and ninth in the America East for the triple jump.

Andrew Sabeh set a personal-best of 16.33m in the weight throw, which ranks second in program history and tenth in the conference.

NJIT will travel back to Boston for the America East Indoor Championships on Feb. 22-23.
