NEW YORK / BOSTON - The NJIT track and field teams set five school records this weekend at the Armory Collegiate Distance Carnival, Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener in Boston, and Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational at Ocean Breeze Complex.
Jessie Fotheringham is the first Highlander in program history to run a sub-17-minute 5K, breaking the school record in 16:34.31 at the Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener.

Zaidah Lightener set her own school record in the long jump with a college-best 6.02m to finish in second place.
Hayley Lucido broke a nine-year old record in the 600m with a personal-best time of 1:33.90.
Jason Alvarez (8.29) and
Dakota Jones (9.07) broke school records in the 60m hurdles in their collegiate debuts.
Aniya Wilkins won the 500m with a personal-best time of 1:16.69 in her collegiate debut.
Raegan Bossard won the triple jump with a mark of 11.85m. Freshman
Matin Mahmoud won the men's triple jump with a personal-best 14.49m, while freshman
Ralu Anosike finished third (14.29m).

Caleb Duvelson won the shot put with a college-best 15.06m.
William Mitchell placed second in the 5,000m with a personal-best time of 14:42.87 at the Armory Collegiate Distance Carnival.

The Highlanders will close out 2025 at the Wagner Shootout on Dec. 12 at Ocean Breeze Complex.
