BETHELHEM, Pa. - The NJIT cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, hosted by Lehigh, on Friday at Goodman Campus Cross Country Course. The women's 6K race will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by the men's 10K race at 1:00 p.m.

Both the men's and women's teams are coming off seventh-place finishes at the America East Championships — the highest in program history.

Jessie Fotheringham earned the America East Most Outstanding Rookie and First Team All-Conference honors after placing third at the America East Championships with a personal-best 5K time of 17:17.34.
Sarah Van Ornum was named America East Second Team All-Conference, finishing 13th with a personal-best 5K time of 17:59.83. Fotheringham and Van Ornum became the first America East All-Conference selections in program history.

Fotheringham earned the America East Female Performer and Rookie of the Week after becoming the first Highlander in program history to earn All-East honors. She placed seventh with a personal-best 6K time of 21:02.4 at the ECAC Championships and has recorded four consecutive top-10 finishes to start her collegiate career.

Kimmie Harding, Fotheringham, and Van Ornum will represent the Highlanders in the women's race.

On the men's side,
Anthony Dvorsky (5th / 24:56.3) and
William Mitchell (8th / 25:11.3) earned top-10 finishes at the Mets Championships, each setting personal-bests in the 8K. Lasse Bjørn Jensen was named America East Male Rookie of the Week after running a personal-best four-mile time of 20:15.5 at the Main Line Invitational.

Mitchell was the only Highlander to compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional last season, posting a personal-best 10K time of 32:13.1 to finish in 111th place.

Bjørn Jensen, Dvorsky, Mitchell,
Fabian Herrera, and
Diego Reyes will lace up for the NJIT men.
