DURHAM, N.H. - The NJIT women's soccer team (5-3-4, 0-1-1 AE) starts a three-game road swing against New Hampshire (3-4-3, 1-1 AE) on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
Last Time Out
The Highlanders earned a 1-1 draw against first-place Binghamton on Oct. 2.
Briana Andreoli scored a goal for the second straight game in the 36th minute, assisted by
Kirra Hyder and
Caitlin Mahala. Hyder recorded an assist for the second straight game, while Mahala tallied the first assist of her collegiate career.
Andreoli Sets Another Program Record
With her goal against UAlbany, Andreoli broke the overall program record with 17 career goals. The senior currently holds the Division I program record with 45 career points and is just two points behind Erika Taugher for the overall program record.
Andreoli earned the America East Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season on Sept. 8 after recording seven points (3 goals, 1 assist) against Wagner and Seton Hall. She is the only player in the America East to win the award twice this season.
Andreoli leads the America East in goals (6) and points this season. She also ranks second in the conference with three assists. The Hawthrone, New Jersey product was selected to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team for the second consecutive season. She ranked second on the team with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) last season while playing all 17 games.
NJIT Ranks No. 170 in NCAA RPI
NJIT currently ranks No. 170 in the NCAA Women's Soccer RPI, which is second-best in the America East. The Highlanders ranked as high as No. 113 this season, which is the second-highest in program history and the best since reaching No. 108 in 2018.
As a team, NJIT leads the America East in total assists (19) and total points (53), while ranking third in total goals (17).
Strong Goalkeeper Play
Freshman goalkeeper
Enya Carthy leads the America East in goals against average (.730) and save percentage (.857). She did not allow a goal in four straight appearances from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7. Carthy earned the America East Rookie of the Week on Sept. 2 after allowing zero goals on 14 shots faced against Lehigh and Rider.
Senior goalkeeper
Mojisola Ayodele recorded a career-high 12 saves against North Texas on Sept. 13 — her second straight game setting a personal best, after making seven saves against Lafayette on Sept. 11. She ranks third in the America East with a .800 save percentage.
Scouting New Hampshire
New Hampshire enters the contest with a 3-4-3 record, most recently earning a 1-0 victory over UMass Lowell on Oct. 2. Abby Beasley scored her first collegiate goal in the win.
Ricshya Walker leads the Wildcats with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) this season.
UNH leads the all-time series, 3-1-1, including a 2-0 win in Newark last season.
