BURLINGTON, Vt. - The NJIT women's soccer team (5-3-6, 0-1-3 AE) travels to Vermont (5-3-4, 3-0-1 AE) for an America East match on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Virtue Field.
 
Last Time Out
The Highlanders earned a 2-2 draw against Penn on Oct. 8. Kirra Hyder scored a goal for the second straight game in the 41st minute and has now recorded at least one point in each of the last four games.
 
Briana Andreoli netted a goal for the fourth consecutive game in the 52nd minute, assisted by Maria Nogueira. Senior goalkeeper Mojisola Ayodele made six saves in the second half.
 
Andreoli Breaks Another Program Record
With her goal against Penn, Andreoli broke the overall program record with 49 career points. She also holds the overall program record with 20 career goals. The senior is three points away from tying the Division I single season points record, set by Fiona Wright (22) in 2018.
 
Andreoli earned the America East Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Oct. 6 after recording four points (2 goals) against Binghamton and New Hampshire. She is the only player in the America East to win the award multiple times this season.
 
Andreoli leads the America East in goals (8) and points (19) this season, and also ranks second with three assists. The Hawthrone, New Jersey product was selected to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team for the second consecutive season. She ranked second on the team with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) last season while playing all 17 games.
 
NJIT Ranks No. 204 in NCAA RPI
NJIT currently ranks No. 204 in the NCAA Women's Soccer RPI (as of Oct. 13), the third-best in the America East. The Highlanders ranked as high as No. 113 this season, which is the second-highest in program history and the best since reaching No. 108 in 2018.
 
As a team, NJIT leads the America East in total assists (22) and total points (64), while ranking second in total goals (21).
 
Strong Goalkeeper Play
Freshman goalkeeper Enya Carthy ranks third in the America East in goals against average (1.00) and fourth in save percentage (.806). She did not allow a goal in four straight appearances from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7. Carthy earned the America East Rookie of the Week on Sept. 2 after allowing zero goals on 14 shots faced against Lehigh and Rider.
 
Senior goalkeeper Mojisola Ayodele recorded a career-high 12 saves against North Texas on Sept. 13 — her second straight game setting a personal best, after making seven saves against Lafayette on Sept. 11. She ranks third in the America East with a .808 save percentage.
 
Scouting Vermont
Vermont enters the contest with a 5-3-4 record following a 1-0 win over Maine on Oct. 12. Madeline Gardner scored the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute.
 
Sydney Remington leads the Catamounts with 11 points (5 goals, 1 assist) this season. Goalkeeper Kylee Carafoli leads the America East in goals against average (.737) and save percentage (.825).
 
Vermont leads the all-time series, 3-2, including a 2-1 victory in Newark last season. Kelsey Ramos scored the lone goal for NJIT in that match.

NJIT will return home to face Bryant on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.
