NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT cross country teams host the Mets Championships and NJIT XC Invitational on Saturday at Branch Brook Park. The Highlanders will compete at the Mets Championships, with the men's 8K starting at 10:00 a.m. and the women's 5K beginning at 10:45 a.m. The NJIT XC Invitational will begin at 11:15 a.m.
 
Anthony Dvorsky ran the first sub-25-minute 8K at the Paul Short Invitational in program history, posting a personal-best time of 24:58.8. His performance marked the fastest time by an NJIT runner at the meet since Hall of Fame inductee Umar Saeed (25:06) in 2009. Dvorsky, Davin Duffy, Ryan Lang, William Mitchell, Diego Reyes, and Daniel Wilson will lace up for the men.
 
Kimmie Harding, Diya Inta, Jenna Keith, and Delahni Shaw will compete for the women.
 
Next Up
NJIT will compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Friday, Oct. 17 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, New York.
