STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The NJIT women's soccer team (3-1-1) begins its five-game road stretch against Wagner (0-2-3) on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Hameline Field.
 
NJIT NEWS & NOTES
NJIT has won three straight matches, defeating Mount St. Mary's 1-0 on August 25, Saint Peter's 2-0 on August 29, and Rider 3-0 on September 1. The Highlanders have recorded four consecutive shutouts, their longest streak since 2021-22. Over the last four games, NJIT outshot its opponents 74-23.
 
The Red and Blue are led by Ciara Adams, who had a five-point game with two goals and an assist against Rider. Adams earned the America East Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring six points in her last two games and ranks fourth in the America East in points this season.
 
Caroline Caputo is the other Highlander with two goals this season, netting both against Saint Peter's for her first career multi-goal game. Kelsey Ramos and Mikayla Balio have one goal each. Emily Jozak is tied for a team-high two assists.
 
Briana Andreoli was selected to the 2024 America East Conference Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference team after leading the team with six goals and three assists for a team-high 15 points in 2023. She has one assist this season.
 
Goalkeeper Samantha Constantine made three saves in two games against Saint Peter's and Rider, including a diving save on a penalty kick in the 86th minute against the Peacocks to preserve the shutout. Mojisola Ayodele has ten saves and only allowed one goal on 39 shots faced in three games this season. Maria Nogueira and Taylor Pape anchor the strong Highlander defense, playing all 90 minutes in the first five matches. NJIT has blocked 17 shots, including ten against top-50 Rutgers.
 
SCOUTING WAGNER
Wagner enters the contest with a 0-2-3 record, with the team's last game ending in a 1-1 draw against Fordham.
 
Alana Goldsmith has scored the only goal for the Seahawks this season. Goalkeeper Sam Hughes has made 26 saves in five games.
 
Wagner leads the all-time series 7-5-1. The last match between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw on September 10, 2023.
