PHILADELPHIA - The NJIT women's soccer team (3-5-1, 0-1 AE) plays its final non-conference game against Drexel (2-4-2, 1-0-1 CAA) on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Vidas Field.
 
NJIT NEWS & NOTES
NJIT looks to bounce back after losing four straight matches, most recently falling to Bryant 4-3 on September 22. Prior to those losses, the Highlanders recorded four consecutive shutouts with wins against Mount St. Mary's, Saint Peter's, and Rider.
 
Kennedy Westbrook earned America East Rookie of the Week honors on September 23 after recording the first three points of her collegiate career, including one goal and one assist against Bryant. Sofia Mignon also scored her first collegiate goal in the 89th minute of that match.
 
Briana Andreoli scored her 11th goal of her NJIT career in the 28th minute against Bryant, ranking fourth all-time in the Division I era. She also ranks fifth in points (26) during that period. The Hawthrone, New Jersey native was selected to the 2024 America East Conference Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference team after leading the team with six goals and three assists for a team-high 15 points in 2023. She has two goals and one assist this season.
 
Ciara Adams has a team-high six points this season with two goals and two assists. She earned the America East Offensive Player of the Week on September 3 after scoring all six points against Saint Peter's and Rider.
 
Caroline Caputo also scored two goals this season, netting both against Saint Peter's for her first multi-goal game. Emily Jozak is tied for the team lead with two assists.
 
Maria Nogueira is the only Highlander to play all 90 minutes in the first nine matches. NJIT has blocked 31 shots, including ten against top-50 Rutgers.
 
SCOUTING DREXEL
Drexel enters the contest with a 2-4-2 record and played to a 2-2 draw against Monmouth on September 22.
 
Casey Touey leads the Dragons with nine points (three goals, three assists) this season, while Lily Brocious is another key contributor with three goals.
 
Drexel leads the all-time series 4-3-1. The last matchup ended in a scoreless draw on August 28, 2022.
